This summer's free acoustic music concert programme at the VEF Pavilion will be closed by jazz rock band The Coco'nuts and silk sound searchers Tu Te.
This week, on 24 August at 19:00, the band The Coco'nuts will perform at VEF Pavilion. The band consists of six creative and bright personalities: Marija Valmiera (lead vocals), Monta Kurme (backing vocals), Pēteris Narubins (guitar and vocals), Benny Zeltkalis (saxophone, keys), Artūrs Strautmanis (drums) and Toms Valmiers (bass). The band's work varies between funk, indie, blues-rock and alternative jazz genres. The Coco'nuts have been labelled both psychedelic jazz-rock and inappropriate format, because the band's sound cannot be contained within the usual genres and that is what makes it so unique.
The Coco'nuts started in 2012 and have released the mini-album Appetizer (2014), the studio debut Amid Opposites (2016) and the album No Other Way Out (2018). To celebrate their tenth anniversary, the band released their third album Forward Back, which was nominated for the Kilograms Culture 2022 Award in the Pop Culture category, and the song "Getting Dark" from the album was nominated for the Riga International Film Festival 2022 (Riga IFF) Baltic Music Video Competition. The band has played at numerous festivals and events locally and abroad. The real magic of the band lies in their live concerts, which are full of creative explosions and improvisation, making each performance different from the last.

The acoustic concert series at the VEF Pavilion will be closed on 31 August by the musical group "TU TE". The original music created by the band immerses the listener in fleeting sound shadows and feelings, creating a lasting, unforgettable message. As the band says: "You are here naked and real in front of you. The musical sound we tell through ourselves comes from impulses, from silences and noises, from lines and colours." These stories are told in music by Lelde Tuče (songwriter, vocals and keyboards), Miķelis Dobičins (cello) and Artūrs Strautmanis (percussion).
