Rihards Lībietis un Erna Daugaviete (LV)

VEF Pavilion, Bērzaunes iela 11C, Riga, on 3 August at 20:00 will host a live music concert by the duo Rihards Lībietis and Erna. The event is organised by Laska Production in collaboration with concert curator Kristaps Bedrītis. Entrance is free. 

Rihards Lībietis (guitar) and Erna Daugaviete (cello) play together in the quintet Rihards Lībietis Orchestra, which performs a wide range of dynamic world music with influences from blues, jazz and Middle Eastern folk music. A harmonious duo of cello and guitar that will take you on a journey through the vastness of the imagination that is at once parchment-like and serenely sensual.

Rihards Lībietis is a new generation musician, guitarist, who regularly performs not only as an acoustic artist, but also plays with Linda Leen, Raimonds Tigula, The Originals and other musicians. He has released several albums, including the Latvian Music Award "Golden Microphone" nominees Willful Blindness (2021) and Scream, Breathe, Cry (2015), as well as performed in the shows Banny Munro's Death (2017) and Izraidītie (2013) at the Dailes Theatre (with the band Ryga), Noķer Mani (2015) at the Ģertrūdes Street Theatre, among others.

 

 

Erna Daugaviete is a cellist active in the Latvian music industry, playing in various ensembles and collaborating with various musicians and producers

VEF Pavilion is designed as a small summer oasis in the historical and industrial VEF factory. The Pavilion will be open every week from Thursday to Saturday during the summer season and will offer both live music concerts by various musicians and DJ nights in the oak-lined green area around the Pavilion.
